Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When you type a name, location, or other search term into a search tool, the query is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Jim Wells County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider receives and processes the query under its own privacy practices.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email us or use a contact form, we retain the information you provide so we can read and answer the message. We do not disclose a contact message outside our organization unless sharing is required by law, needed to comply with a valid legal process, or authorized by you.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard technical records may be created when a page loads. They help us operate the service, understand traffic, diagnose failures, and protect the site. Depending on the browser, device, and services in use, these records may include:
- The internet protocol address used for the visit
- Browser name, type, and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages opened and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps tied to requests
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may help measure how visitors use the site, remember basic preferences, support advertising, and keep features working. Most browsers let you reject or remove cookies. Blocking them may cause some parts of the service or a partner tool to work differently.
How Information Supports the Service
We process information only for ordinary operational, measurement, communication, security, and advertising purposes connected with the site. Those purposes include:
- Keeping pages available, responsive, and secure
- Passing search requests to the appropriate partner service
- Learning which Jim Wells County record resources visitors find useful
- Finding faults, abuse, and technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests
Websites Beyond Our Control
Links may lead to the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department, county clerks, the county jail roster, TDCJ, parole resources, courts, federal or immigration portals, public-record sources, and outside search tools. Once you follow an external link, that destination controls its own data collection, retention, security, and privacy terms. We do not set those practices.
Some advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies on their own systems to understand activity across multiple websites and select interest-based advertising. Their collection and choices are governed by their policies, not this Privacy Notice.
Organizations That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may reach service providers or public authorities when necessary for the functions described in this notice:
- Search partners that receive and handle submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure visits and performance
- Advertising networks that deliver and assess advertisements
- Law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or other lawful demand
Each recipient receives only the information involved in its role or legally required by the applicable demand.
Our Security Approach
We use reasonable administrative and technical practices intended to reduce unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Security is a continuing effort, not a guarantee. No website, internet transmission, storage service, or connected system can be promised to be fully secure or immune from a breach.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or legal guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact us and request that the material be reviewed and deleted.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, you may ask about personal information we hold. Depending on the circumstances, available choices can include:
- Requesting a copy of personal data associated with you
- Correcting information that is inaccurate
- Asking for deletion of information we are not required to retain
- Objecting to or opting out of certain forms of processing where a choice is offered
These choices concern data held by this private service. Requests for Texas government records are governed separately by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, and must be directed to the public office that maintains the record.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The updated wording will be posted on this page and will carry a new effective date. Continued use after posting means the revised practices apply from that date.
